A guide · Choosing care

Health concierge, concierge doctor or longevity clinic?

Three services with similar names do three different jobs. Here’s what each one does in Dubai, who it suits, and how to tell them apart before you pay a membership fee.

General information, not medical advice. Zensu is a health concierge, so we’ve kept the comparison as plain as we can.

01 The names

Similar names. Different jobs.

In Dubai, “concierge” gets attached to almost anything premium. Search for a medical concierge and you’ll find doctors who come to your hotel, hospital desks for international patients and services that coordinate care. Search for a patient advocate and you’ll mostly find lawyers: in the UAE, “advocate” usually means a legal advocate.

One question separates them. Who is clinically responsible for you, and who keeps the plan moving?

02 Concierge medicine

A doctor on retainer.

Concierge medicine, also called retainer medicine, is a membership with a doctor or practice. The fee buys direct access: longer appointments, quicker replies, often home or hotel visits, and a named physician who knows your history. In Dubai the term also covers doctor-on-call services that visit homes and hotels.

It suits you if you want a personal doctor you can reach quickly. The doctor and their facility hold the licence and the clinical responsibility.

Ask: how they handle specialists, tests and results from providers outside their own practice.

03 Longevity clinics

Assessment and treatment, under one licence.

A longevity clinic offers assessments and programmes aimed at healthspan: advanced blood panels, biological-age tests, imaging and fitness testing, plus treatments that range from established medicine to therapies still experimental for longevity.

In Dubai it’s licensed by the Dubai Health Authority or Dubai Healthcare City’s regulator; in Abu Dhabi, by the Department of Health. Under Dubai Law No. 17 of 2026, longevity activities as the Law defines them also need a Dubai Longevity Authority permit.

It suits you if you want a structured assessment and a clinical team to act on it.

Ask: what happens after the results, who follows up and what it costs in total. Our ten questions for any longevity clinic go further.

04 Health concierge

Someone to hold the plan together.

A health concierge, also called a medical concierge or private health office, coordinates care across providers. It books and sequences appointments, makes sure results reach the right clinician, and keeps agreed follow-up moving around your calendar and travel. Licensed clinicians diagnose, prescribe and treat.

A longevity concierge does the same job with a long-term focus: diagnostics, specialists, sleep and recovery held in one plan and reviewed over years.

It suits you if your care already spans several providers, or you want continuity without changing doctors.

Ask: who your named lead is, how results are routed and what the membership includes.

The limit: these are working descriptions, and services blur at the edges. A provider’s licence tells you what it may do, so check it on the regulator’s register.

06 Practical

Six questions for any of them.

  1. Who is clinically responsible for me, and how do I reach them between visits?
  2. What does the fee include, and what is charged separately?
  3. What happens when a result arrives, and who books the follow-up?
  4. Who sees my information, and where is it kept?
  5. How does this work when I travel?
  6. How do I leave, and what happens to my records?

07 Combining

Many people use more than one.

These services fit together. A health concierge can coordinate appointments with your own doctor and a longevity clinic, so results reach the right person and the next step happens. The test is whether each party’s role is clear, and written down.

08 Quick answers

In short.

What is a health concierge?

A health concierge coordinates your care across providers: booking and sequencing appointments, routing results to the right clinician and keeping agreed follow-up moving. Licensed clinicians provide the medical care.

What does “medical concierge” mean in Dubai?

It’s used for three different things: doctors who visit your home or hotel, hospital desks that help international patients, and services that coordinate care across providers. Ask whether the service provides medical care itself or arranges it.

How does concierge medicine work?

You pay a membership fee to a doctor or practice in exchange for direct access, longer appointments and continuity, sometimes including home or hotel visits. The doctor provides the care and holds the clinical responsibility.

Is a longevity concierge a clinic?

No. A longevity concierge coordinates care across clinics, laboratories and specialists over time. Assessments and treatment stay with licensed providers.
